ICEFICEF

 

International Center for Economics and Finance (ICEF) was inaugurated in 1997 at Venice International University. Its main purpose was to offer top-level post graduate programs

In particular, ICEF has organized a Master in Economics and Finance on the Isola di S. Servolo in Venice. In 2006 ICEF expanded to become a Research Center of the Department of Economics with the aim to promote culture and professional expertise in the field of economics and quantitative finance through research projects, working groups, and undergraduate and graduate  seminars and courses (including the Master’s programme in Economics and Finance).

The ICEF working group is involved in activities that include:

  • institutional lecturing and tutoring activities (Bachelor and Master levels in Economics and Finance)
  • post-graduate studies (International Master Degree in Economics and Finance)
  • research activities in the field of economics and quantitative finance
  • joint projects with the world of economics and finance
  • conferences and seminars

The faculty at ICEF comprises several professors from the Department of Economics:

The activities of the Center focus on the in-depth study and development of research thematics connected with economics and finance through the use of quantitative techniques. The areas of interest include: asset allocation, risk management, financial crises and contagion, financial econometrics, asset pricing, trading techniques, financial engineering, and corporate finance.


ICEF intends to build on the knowledge, skills and experiences that the members of the Center have gained in their activities with a view to pursuing three main goals:

  • provide advanced-level academic training in the field of economics and quantitative finance;
  • develop research in these areas;
  • contribute to the dissemination of the research results within the economic/financial world
