International Workshop on "Impacts of Climate Change and Biodiversity Effects"
April 14th, 2008, Venice
Ca' Foscari, Aula Baratto, h 9.00-18.00
The Workshop is organised by the Department of Economics, Ca' Foscari University Venice, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank, within its University Research Sponsorship Programme.
The overall aim of this workshop is to address key issues on the use of micro-econometric valuation tools to assess the economic costs of climate related biodiversity losses and the consequent macro-economic impacts. In particular, the workshop is aimed at stimulating the debate on the assessment of:
- the economic value of biodiversity and its role in the design of an effective and broadly accepted biodiversity management policy;
- the macro-economic implications of biodiversity losses and other climate change impacts on EU and non EU national economies.
